Experience in Disaster Recovery After Chile Earthquake

Plump Engineering, Inc was retained for immediate response to survey the extent of the damage to a 23-story apartment high rise in Concepcion Chile after an 8.8 Earthquake in 2010.

The pictures below demonstrate the complete failure of concrete walls where the vertical bars have been bent and show signs of shearing. After assessing the condition of the building our team began to collaborate with owners, contractors and government officials for remediation of the damage to stabilize and bring the building to operational status.
